JVC Kenwood highlighted its Totoku brand of medical displays and an expanded portfolio of healthcare imaging products, including pathology displays and microscope cameras at RSNA 2016.
The company’s featured product was the Totoku CCL550i2, a color 5MP display for multi-modality imaging, including digital tomosynthesis, X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and digital radiography (DR). The versatile display is a cost-effective direct replacement of an existing 5MP monochrome display without the need to change workstation graphics cards or the doctor’s desktop layout.
The display comes with an advanced new technology – Dynamic Gamma – that automatically recognizes color images and optimizes gamma for the best possible image quality. While the display shows crisp and accurate DICOM monochrome images from digital mammography devices, doctors can also efficiently work with color ultrasound images thanks to the optimized gamma. This feature is available on all Totoku color diagnostic and clinical displays, including the CCL650i2, the CCL3582i2, the CCL258i2 and the CCL214.
Also from JVC Kenwood is the Totoku CCL650i2, a wide 30-inch color screen with value-added functions that provide radiologists with a seamless view of a dual-3MP setup for reduced eye fatigue and enhanced productivity. This 6MP color monitor is equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as a built-in sensor for image stability, remote calibration for convenient and efficient quality control, and a uniformity correction system. These advanced features ensure that radiologists have access to crisp, accurate images while minimizing costs.
A newly introduced PM Medivisor Cloud enables picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and information technology (IT) administrators to remotely calibrate and efficiently manage all Totoku displays from any device connected to the network. With this integrated software, hospitals and medical facilities can reduce the burden and costs of asset management and quality control on each display to optimize organizations’ daily operations.
JVC Kenwood also announced plans to expand its presence in medical imaging with new solutions in other professional imaging areas. These new areas include displays for pathology applications, solutions to help radiologists improve their reading capabilities with gaze point tracking technologies, and 4K cameras for the surgical environment.
